John Baxter

In 1882 John and Emmett Baxter arrived in Mansfield to check out available land to relocate their father's factory. The Baxter Stove works would be located on Bloom Street, today East Fifth, past the tracks once the street was extended. John Baxter was secretary of the company and later took over as president after his father's death.
