Description
Taken during the construction of the Mansfield Savings Bank on the northwest corner of West Fourth and North Main. This building replaced a bank building originally constructed in 1873. Wood scaffolds and stacks of building material sit on the West Fourth Street sidewalk. Two men pose on the low scaffolding. To the right (north) of the bank is the Baker Photographic Studio and Piano sales. To the far left, the Mansfield News building sits at the corner of Fourth and North Walnut--A large sign standing on the roof proclaims "The News." Businesses fill the stores sitting on the northside of West Fourth between Walnut and Main.
